KEYLITE VS OTHER SKYLIGHT BRANDS

Keylite has gained a reputation for excellence based on exceptional design for Australian conditions and superior construction values.

Keylite skylights and roof windows outperform other leading brand skylights popular in Australia in significant critical performance areas.

These are measurable performance indicators so you know you’re getting a better skylight.

THERMAL PERFORMANCE

Keylite skylights deliver vastly superior thermal performance compared to other leading brands thanks to their very low U-value.

The U-value measures the thermal efficiency of the glass; the lower the value the better. Keylite skylights have a U-value of 1.3; other brands measure 2.9 and standard house windows are around 6 or 7.

The unique thermal collar works to prevent thermal bridging and significantly enhance the thermal performance of Keylite skylights. Other leading brands don’t have this thermal collar.

SOUND REDUCTION

4mm glass is standard on Keylite skylights whereas other leading brands offer only 3 mm thick glass.

This means that Keylite delivers a significantly better sound reduction score of 36 compared to 32 for other brands.

DURABILITY

Keylite skylights come with single piece flashing for metal roofs; with other brands, flashing needs to be ordered separately.

Keylite internal timber framing comes ready painted—a much more durable and convenient solution than other brands that may only simply pre-prime the timber.

INSTALLATION

Keylite offers an easy rapid install solution with its Flick-fit brackets; other brands provide a standard bracket.

Our Flick-fit brackets also allow the skylight to sit lower on the roof making for a lower less obtrusive profile.

KEYLITE FLASHINGS

Adequately designed flashings are essential for preventing water ingress around the skylight.

Keylite flashings kits feature a unique one-piece apron that offers a low profile elegant aesthetic finish as well as easy installation.

TILE ROOFS

Flashings are available for deep tiles up to 90mm thick.

These are suitable for flat or profiled interlocking tiles, slate and profiled sheeting on roof pitches between 15° and 90°.

METAL ROOF

One-piece flashings are available for metal roofs from 0° to 15° and from 15° to 90°.

Use these in conjunction with the appropriate upstand tray for weatherproof performance you can really rely on.

Upstand trays come in three models: standard, 10°, and 15° pitch.

Keylite Solar Blinds

KEYLITE BLINDS

Keylite offers a range of solar powered blinds to fit all skylights and Keylite roof windows.

The solar collector, battery, motor and blind are hidden in a small cassette at the top of the blind. No wiring is involved so it’s an easy install.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

You’ll love the extensive colour and material range including neutrals, vibrant children’s patterns, full-bodied colours, moisture resistant PVC fabrics and blackout or dimout fabrics.

  • Easy install – no wiring, no electrician needed

Fast Fitting Skylights - Steps 1 - 3

KEYLITE SKYLIGHT INSTALLATION

Keylite have simplified the installation process for their skylights to save you money and time as well as ensure the optimum results every time.

Once the correctly-sized roof framing is in place, installation of your skylight should take no more than a few minutes.

Step 1: Flick the pre-fitted brackets at the bottom of the window into place, selecting the setting for the roof type.

Step 2: Position the window in the prepared roof opening, resting the Flick-Fit brackets on the bottom. The bracket ensures the window is set at the correct height.

Step 3: Pivot the skylight through the roof opening and flick the top brackets into place, selecting the setting for tile or slate roofs. Secure the skylight with the screws provided.

Remember, you are dealing with roof penetrations and so maintaining a weather proof seal is critical.

We can put you in touch with qualified installers who will take all the stress out of your skylight installation.
